Champagne Inattendue 2010 Brut
2010: flashback on that peculiar year.
Winter was cold, as was spring. In August we experienced torrential rain, which filled the grapes with water, in particular the more delicate Meuniers. Then enters Botrytis, which started ravaging the crops just before harvest. We had to act fast and pick the undamaged grapes; after a thorough selection, the loss was estimated at 30%.
But the first tastings were surprising, so we simply could not let this go without creating a vintage. The reward was a beautiful, exceptional champagne, limited in quantity.

Tasting
The bouquet is aromatic and displays spices; the flavour wrapped around exotic aromas offers a finish on saline notes. The 2010 vintage is 'inattendue' –unexpected- quite the revelation.
